10-year-old NELLY, a singing prodigy, alternates her difficult life with very few resources, between attending school and accompanying her divorced mother, LUISA, to uncomfortable chemotherapy sessions for her advanced ovarian cancer.

A talent competition comes to the country, the main figure is NINA, a prominent national singer. Nelly tries to participate in the event seeking, not only to satisfy her desire to sing about her but also, within her naivety as a child, to manage to afford the treatment to cure her mother of her illness. .

Luisa wants to support her but she is not in a position and DANILO, her father, does not believe in such things; so Nelly turns to MARÍA, a school teacher who, having noticed Nelly’s talent and her interest in the contest, decides to help her with Luisa’s consent.

Nelly manages to present herself, being selected in the first and second round but… Luisa’s health worsens, a situation that forces custody of Nelly to fall on Danilo who, overwhelmed by long work shifts, Luisa’s illness and now the custody of the girl, he breaks his daughter’s wishes causing her participation in the famous event to be cancelled.

Luisa, faced with Nelly’s frustration, María’s now in vain effort and her desire for success towards her daughter, stands up for her before the event’s producers.

The day of the grand finale arrives! Nelly is summoned again thanks to her mother and her Nina who intercedes for her before the other jurors even when one of them, not being convinced with her interpretation of her, asks her for a different song!
