AMANDA tells about liberation. Depicts a woman finding her identity, rebelling against social prejudices, her own limiting beliefs and the past traumas that keep her from breaking free. She will realize that her liberation lies within her.
AMANDA is an adaptation of the successful play by the same name, written and directed by Giovanny Cruz, a recognized figure in the Dominican literature.
AMANDA takes place in the 80’s in the rural area of the Dominican Republic. Is inspired by the Caribbean folklore, the magical religious syncretism practiced not only in the Caribbean but also in all Latin America and Africa.
